Manny Pacquiao

WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!

NARY A BLOW nor verbal jab has been thrown, but the fight to host the March 13 Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. match is heating up. The millions and millions of dollars in potential tourism revenue has officials in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York salivating for the historic matchup. In Dallas, Jerry Jones has reportedly offered $25 million to host the match in his new Cowboys Stadium, but Mayweather’s agent cancelled a planned visit there.

The Las Vegas Review Journal has two great videos online: The first is a preview of Cirque du Soleil’s seventh Las Vegas production show, Viva Elvis, at the Aria Theater. My other fave is a time-lapse of CityCenter from the ground up in two minutes. Get the links for the videos at http://www.KimosVegas.com. There’s a lotta of hype about the Strip’s newest resident, and it’s worth every penny of the $8.5 billion spent.

Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas rock in 2010

SPOCKED at the New CityCenter: KHON’s Manolo Morales.

MGM MIRAGE play-er’s club members, watch your mailbox for a personalized offer to check out Aria. It’s based on your level of play and starts around a buck per midweek night with a $25 dining credit.

FOR THE 38th year, Dick Clark will rock us into the new year. Ryan Seacrest will co-host with Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) live from Las Vegas with performances by The BEPs, Justin Bieber, Keri Hilson, Colbie Caillat and more on KITV (ABC).

LIKE A SCENE from a movie ... The armed man approached the armored truck and quickly left with four bags of money. Initial reports said the robber got away with $1 million ... they were really BIG bags. Later, officials revised the estimated take to about $36,000 ... OK, so they weren’t so big after all.

AT THE EXCALIBUR ... no need ask the slot attendant for a hot machine. Just look for the sign that says “Certified Top 40 Hot Slots.” To qualify for the “Hot Slot” designation the machine has to be one of the casinos 40 most generous the week before.

Ruth Magarifuji from Paia won $4,000 at Main Street

SEVEN OUT ... Steve Wyrick is disappearing from Planet Hollywood. The magician’s three-year battle for the Strip ended last week.

ANOTHER VICTIM of the slow economy and the slow season ... the Sahara has closed two of its three towers.

THE JOHN MAYER TRIO rings in the new year at The Joint in the Hard Rock.

BOBBI DAVIS has just received approval from the state of Nevada to hire male prostitutes. The law requiring cervical testing was revised to include urethra testing, thus paving the way for male equality. Rates have yet to be established, but the ladies have been averaging $300 per hour. Interested clients and job seekers should call the Shady Lady Ranch ... Could a name change be in the near future?

BELATED CONGRATS ... Mayor Oscar Goodman declared Dec. 4 Lani Misalucha day in Las Vegas. Check out her show Voices nightly in the Shimmer Cabaret at the Hilton.

AND CONGRATULATIONS TO Ruth Magarifuji from “lucky you live” Paia, Maui. The Royal Flush at the Main Street made her $4,000 richer.

WHAT’S BETTER than eating at the Chart House in Waikiki? Eating at the Chart House in the Golden Nugget’s new Rush Tower ... everything tastes better in Vegas.
