WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas! We’re off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Odds ... Michael Shackelford talks about his new book, Gambling 102, and Mike Skelton, president of the Casino Chip and Gaming Token Collectors Club, talks about the Platinum Collection (a collection of casino chips on eBay that’ll fetch over a million dollars).

Elmer Sherwin is the first person to
win the Megabucks jackpot twice!

ELMER SHERWIN has become the first person ever to win the Megabucks jackpot more than once! In 1989 he won $4.6 million at the Mirage. His second Megabucks jackpot, $21.1 million, was hit at the Cannery Thursday (Sept. 15). “I’ve always been lucky,” he says. A man of simple tastes ... the hotel/casino offered him a comp meal at one of its restaurants while he waited for his win to be validated, but all he wanted was a hot dog. The 92-year-old World War II vet will make another Hurricane Katrina donation and try for a third jackpot with his winnings.

HAWAII HAS two Megabucks winners. John Tippin won almost $12 million in 1996 at the Las Vegas Hilton, and Amy Nishimura won almost $9 million at the Fremont on Dec. 23, 2003. What happens when you come into a lot of money and publicity quickly? Read John’s book I Did It! available at for the story.
