Kathryn Morris

WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas ... the Player’s Edge!

THE LIFETIME network is working on a drama titled The Princess of Whales. It’s not about the woman who’s married to the Prince of Wales, nor is it another documentary on the late Princess Di. It’s based on the real life story of Marcia Hartman. If you don’t know the name, it’s because she is a casino host to the highest of high rollers known as whales. Heading the Vegas set show (and I apologize in advance for the alliteration) is Cold Case cutie Kathryn Morris and 24 writer producer Stephen Kornish, who said, “She is the most fascinating, complex female character we have seen.”

CONFUSED? ... Who isn’t? The Pac12 Conference decided to change the final score of the USC/Utah game after it was over and everyone went home. The next day the league announced that there was a miscommunication between the refs on the field and the scorekeeper, and the game-ending touchdown was not counted. USC didn’t beat the 8.5 spread in the final score as they did in the revised one. This caused some confusion in many sports books and with even more bettors. To be fair, the Hilton paid off both sides, but the general rule of sports book thumb is that the final score is the one that counts and not the overturned one ... But as the Hilton’s customers will attest, it never hurts to ask.

ALTHOUGH NOT AS confusing as the aforementioned score ... UFC big guy Dana White flips card 137 around. Originally Georges St. Pierre was going to defend his title against Nick Diaz and BJ Penn was supposed to fight Carlos Condit. After Diaz missed two press conferences (he’s press shy), Dana White pulled him from the title match and moved Condit up. That left the local boy without a fight until Diaz agreed to face the former two-division champ BJ Penn Oct. 29 at the MGM.

IN AN EFFORT to make it easier to separate you from your cash, the Riviera has created the first outdoor walk-up betting window. That’s right, sports fans, you don’t even have to venture into the air-conditioned comfort of the casino to check lines or place a bet. And the operator of the Riv’s book, Lucky’s, makes The Patriots a 5-1 fave to win Super Bowl XLVI.

CHRIS CHRISTIE, the governor of New Jersey, the nation’s No. 2 gambling spot, shot the first volley saying, “There is no reason people should go to Las Vegas in the summer. Why would you go to the middle of the desert in the summer? You’d have to be stupid to do that.” Former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman fired back “Who would you rather be with? My showgirls or Snooki?” He’s got you there, Gov’ner.

WHEN IS the best time to visit Lake Las Vegas? ... Right now as the temperature drops, so do the rates at the Aston MonteLago Village Resort. You can book a room in the Mediterranean-style resort starting at $79 a night. Check out the place Celine Dion calls home (Lake Las Vegas) and its calendar of events at TheVillageLLV.com.
