The S.O.S. & the lovely Lani Misalucha score another rave review… this time from Phil Arnold. He says it’s the best afternoon show in Vegas!

There’s a saying in the jungle that when elephants fight the ants get hurt… in this months issue of Fortune magazine it’s all about Chinese Vegas (no not us Pahke’s in Vegas) but the Vegas they’re building in Macau. Steve Wynn (the guy whose-name is on the Wynn Las Vegas) and Sheldon Adelson (the guy who owns and built the Venetian) have selected the small ex-Portuguese colony as their latest battlefield. Up for grabs One BILLION Chinese and revenue equal to Las Vegas (about $6 billion a year)! Macau is the only place they can legally gamble in China. The Wynn Macau and the Venetian Macau have some other elephants to worry about the MGM Grand Macau and local businessman Stanley Ho’s Grand Lisboa.

Where will Donald Trump stay when he visits Las Vegas? Not in the 64th Top Floor Penthouse of his new Trump Tower… even the Donald has his price! He was trumped by an unidentified buyer who had enough cash to move the billionaire to the floor below (63rd). His partner Phil Ruffin who owns the real estate the Tower is built on (and the New Frontier) will be on the 62nd floor. Think that’s a lotta floors to walk down if there’s a fire? That’s why these guys walk up to the roof where their helicopters will whisk them away to safety.

Why are the mega-rich making their residences in Las Vegas? No state income tax.

Lally’s… the guys at Mike McKenna’s swear by this place. Good food and libations, fair prices, pupus, video poker, slots, karaoke and live Hawaiian entertainment on the weekends. You’ll find lotsa ex-pats and maybe even the Aiea class of ‘71 (they reunion there every year).

Speaking of reunions the Farrington class of ‘61 is having its 44th reunion in Vegas next month… no make last minute kine, call Gwen Silva now 808-689-5227 or dey gon tell da principal.

Melissa with James Lesure

Coupla weeks ago we told you about Melissa who won a trip to party with the cast of Vegas from KHNL and KCCN FM100. Here’s proof she had a good time at the party… she’s smiling with James Lesure who plays Mike Cannon.

Seems like everyone I know is goin’Vegas… hanging at the Cal with the Kamehameha class of 1985 was Cox Radio exec John Aeto, and KCCN FM100’s Shannon Scott and his lovely bride Mandy were celebrating their anniversary at Paris… I forgot what Shannon said was his favorite part of Zumanity… was it the two girls in the fishbowl or the two guys kissing?

The Blazing 7’s at the Fremont paid off for Lydia Bisquera of Ewa Beach she hit three jackpots totaling $5,044. Melrose Edralin of Honolulu also hit two Fremont jackpots for $8,000. But the big (I can borrow or what) handshake goes to Wataru Takita who won $50,000 on the Red, White and Blue slots!
