WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas ... the Player’s Edge!

AS WE BID FAREWELL to one year and jump into another one, Hilton passes while the other sevens out ...

PARIS HILTON GOT a pass and is no longer persona non grata from the Wynn Las Vegas. The great-granddaughter of Hilton Hotels founder Conrad was banned from the hotel 18 months ago when she was busted for possession of cocaine as she entered the hotel. All seems to be forgiven as the heiress partied into the new year at Surrender in the Encore.

THE BUILDING HAS left Elvis ... To kick off the new year, the Las Vegas Hilton officially changed its name to the LVH and adopted the phrase “Same Fame. New Name.” What’s in a name, you ask? In the case of Hilton, a hefty chunk of change ...

KIMO’S VEGAS TRIVIA: What was the name of the last Vegas hotel to undergo a name change? If you guessed the Aladdin, you’re right. More KVT: What’s the only other name LVH has ever had on its marquee? The International Hotel ... Bonus KVT: The stationery at LVH bore the same identity since 1971.

SEVEN OUT by the end of the month is the Lion Den at the MGM. Part of a $160 million renovation, the king of the jungle is no longer the king of the Strip’s free attractions.

THE LAS VEGAS TOWNSHIP constables’ office made a pilot for a reality show about themselves. The show was posted on YouTube, and county commissioners took umbrage with the way the officers operate and the language they used ... Shut the front door! Reality show or training video on nonacceptable behavior by a constable? You be the judge. Get the link at KimosVegas.com.

THREE NEW CLUBS opened in Vegas over the new year ... Acronymically speaking, there’s RPM nightclub at the Tropicana and 1OAK. OK, I only know for sure that 1OAK is an acronym for “one of a kind.” The third is Hyde at Bellagio.

GADGET GEEKS descend upon the City of Sin this week (Jan. 10-13) for the annual Consumer Electronics Show. Last year we (Americans) spent $246 each on electronic gifts for the holidays, a 6 percent increase over 2010. What will be unveiled at CES that we can be expected to see for sale by next Christmas? Even thinner TVs, hi-def 3-DTV, smaller lighter computers, stuff to make your home smarter, smarter smartphones, a new Play Station and much more.

LUCIAETTA IVEY FILED SUIT alleging a few things, including that Phil Ivey’ ceased paying spousal support in April last year when the Full Tilt Poker site was seized by the Department of Justice. His side says when the payments from the website stopped, he was under no obligations to continue to pay her $180,000 a month. Her side says his passive ownership in the website site (acquired during the marriage) earned him a monthly stipend of $920,000 ... something to think about the next time you “shuffle up and deal” on the Internet.
