WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... the Player’s Edge!

The first Great Santa Run tried to break the Guinness World Record

NO, IT’S not a Santa convention, but a plethora of Closet Clauses coming together for the first Great Santa Run on Fremont Street. Coming in just shy of the Guinness World Record, the organizers plan another run at the record next year!

ONE OF my favorite places to visit in the Bellagio is the Jean-Philippe Patisserie. Not only do they have the world’s only chocolate fountain (and great stuff to eat), but now through the end of the year you can see a life-size chocolate Santa. It took two weeks and more than 200 pounds of milk and dark chocolate to create the great edible one ... they could have used him on Fremont Street.

A FAMILY vacation to Hawaii, a trip to Vegas, a pink Hummer and a no-limit shopping spree for the kids are some of the things Keith Bryce is planning to do after winning the $35 million Mega Millions Jackpot. He had to split the jackpot with a friend (they each spent $2.50 on quick pick tickets). By the way, ladies, he’s single.

SEEN ON the Strip: Cowabunga computers’ head bovine Yasuo. He says Tao is the happening club. Dennis Rodman was holding court while he was there, and he also saw Jose Canseco at the $15 Blackjack table (we all can’t play at the $100 table with you, Yas).

BETCHA didn’t know that the Las Vegas Marathon is the only marathon that you can place a bet on the outcome? The Mandalay Bay Sports Book is taking wagers on the Battle of the Sexes race known as The Challenge. The professional women runners will start the race ahead of the professional male runners (like a golf handicap) and the first runner to cross the finish line wins the $50,000 first prize and a $50,000 bonus for the challenge.

THIS WEEK we’re talking story with Scott Voller, the director of marketing at the Mandalay Bay, and magician Nathan Burton (win tickets to his show at www.KimosVegas.com) from V the Ultimate Variety show. Thursday at 9 a.m. on Sports Radio 1420 AM.

CONGRATS TO the folks at Hawaiian Airlines on their phenomenal record as the airline with the best on-time service, 24 months in a row! Maybe they can help us wake up our kids.

GET MORE Kimo’s Vegas in the Wednesday MidWeek. Also look for us on Oceanic Cable’s Around Hawaii and with Brickwood Galuteria Friday morning at 7:20 on Hawaiian105 KINE.
