WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... the Player’s Edge!
ANTONIO MARGARITO will defend his welterweight championship title against Manuel Gomez Feb. 18 at the Aladdin. For us local folks, however, the headline match will be Waipahu’s Brian “The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria vs. Ivan Calderon of Puerto Rico. There’s a lot at stake because both fighters are undefeated - Viloria 18-0 (with 12 knockouts) and Calderon 24-0 (with five KOs) - and this is Brian’s first fight since knocking out Eric Ortiz to win the championship.
You can catch Wayne Brady at
the Mirage in February
IN FEBRUARY you can catch part-time local resident and Emmy Award-winner Wayne Brady at the Danny Gans Theater in the Mirage. You think he gets tired of people asking him “So who’s line is it anyway?”
MANY OF US think of our dogs as an extension of the family, sometimes almost equal in stature to the human children. If you think of your canine in this manner, then Vegas has a new store for you! Lush Puppy has the pet store plastic chew toys you can find everywhere, but if money is not an issue how about an $80 Italian handcrafted water bowl, or the $375 doggie necklaces (after $20 it’s no longer called a leash). And if you need some serious doggie omiyage, check out the $620 doggie carrying case, or the matching doggie and owner scarves, or a suede doggie jacket. I know you think I’m crazy, but last year Americans spent $35.9 billion on our pets.
DININGINFRANCE.com has announced its list of the 10 best French restaurants that are not in France. Chateau Restaurant Joel Robuchon in Japan and Switzerland are tied for first place. And the only restaurant in the U.S. comes in at fourth - Joel Robuchon at the Mansion in the MGM (and you have to be a guest at the Mansion or writing a review for a French.com to eat there).
