WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... the Player’s Edge!

Usher is hoping to be a Vegas headliner
Usher is hoping to be a Vegas headliner

THE GRAMMY Award-winning Usher is rumored to be looking for a Vegas headliner gig a la Celine and Elton. Local entertainment execs were impressed with his performance at the Andre Agassi fund-raiser in October.

ANOTHER SIN City rumor says that Michael Jordan has a $2 million plus credit limit. That puts him in a different kind of rare air ... I guess you could call it “Whale Air!” You know, the people who represent one-half of 1 percent of all bettors ... the ones who bet the price of a mid-sized automobile ($25,000) with every hand. Do you know what nickname the Las Vegas dealers call him? “Hoarding Jordan” - it’s an obvious reference to his frugal tipping practice.

WHAT IS the quickest way to becoming a whale? Try winning the world’s richest poker game at the Crown Casino in Melbourne. World Series Poker champ Joe Hachem and Phil Ivey are both paying to play in the tourney where the winner takes home $80 million.

THIS WEEK on Kimo’s Vegas we’ll be talking story with Playboy author Basil Nestor, and Reimi Marden, an Aiea grad who has helped many people and major corporations like the Las Vegas Hilton, Rio, Harrah’s, the U.S. Army and many others, Thursday at 9 a.m. on Sports Radio 1420.

SIN, THE Gentleman’s Club, announced plans to host a topless poker tournament. No worry, guys ... keep your shirts on. It’s not the players, but the dealers who would be topless. However, the Nevada Gaming Commission has ruled this type of tourney a no-no.

DID YOU hear about Harrah’s and eBay hiding $1 million on the Las Vegas Strip? There’s a ton of prizes, but two lucky people will search the strip for $1 million! Visit www.KimosVegas.com for the link to enter.
