IF THE TITLES Shake It Up, Since You’re Gone, My Best Friend’s Girl and Good Times Roll remind you of the fun days of the ‘80s, 17 years after their last tour the 2006 model of The Cars cruises into the Aladdin May 19. What makes The New Cars better? Joining original members Elliot Easton and Greg Hawkes is Blondie, Tubes drummer Prairie Prince, Utopia bassist Kasim Sulton and Kauai resident Todd Rundgren!

Younger folks may recognize him as Liv Tyler’s “Dad” and the father of Mid-Pac grad and Kansas City Royals’ SS Randy Rundgren and Florida Marlins’ SS Rex Rundgren.

NEW VEGAS status symbol: a wine locker. You’ve seen them at Morton’s here in Hawaii. The lockers in the Vegas Morton’s and the Capital Grill are no different. In addition to the lengthy wait list, applicants pay up to $500 per year and stock their locker from the restaurant’s collection.

DID YOU hear about the guy who lost his fortune ($12.1 million) gambling and then sued to get the money back? Max Wells was on prescription drugs for Parkinson’s disease (Mirapex and Requip). He claims that the drugs made him play compulsively and he’s suing GlaxoSmithKline and six Vegas casinos for $21.5 million. Gaming expert (and ex-Hawaii resident and attorney) I. Nelson Rose says “It’s not a frivolous claim by any means.” So he wasn’t a terrible gambler after all.

THIS WEEK on Kimo’s Vegas Radio we talk with Richard Marcus about cheating at poker tournaments, cheating in poker rooms, cheating at poker online and more from his latest book Dirty Poker: The Poker Underworld Exposed. He ought to know; he’s cheated casinos out of millions and million of dollars. Listen in Thursday at 9 a.m. on Sports Radio 1420 or online at www.KimosVegas.com

ANOTHER VEGAS first: The $50,000 Sudoku Champions Tournament, the largest tourney of its kind to date. There are 32 regional tourneys leading up to the national championship in January 2007 in Las Vegas.

DAVID DANIELS, KCCN FM100 air personality and program director, thought he had a long commute (Kaneohe to downtown), then he heard about Barry Manilow’s 250-mile-a-day trek from his home in Palm Springs to his showroom at the Las Vegas Hilton. Somehow I think the commute is a little better in the comfort of your own private jet.

DAMIEN HIGH School class of 1986 is partying at the Cal on Sept. 28. Visit www.KimosVegas.com for the link to join in the fun.

SPEAKING OF the Cal ... the Krispy Kremes are on Barry Chun of Honolulu - he won a $45,000 playing Let It Ride.

GET MORE Kimo’s Vegas at www.KimosVegas.com, in the weekend MidWeek and with Brickwood Galuteria Friday morning at 7:20 on Hawaiian105 KINE.
