Venus Delos Santos and Lori Wingard at Ryan’s Grill

MAY IS here — summer’s near — but Mothers’ Day is already here! Don’t forget to call Mom on Sunday. Better yet, take her to lunch. Thank you, moms, for all you do to make your children’s dreams come true …

ANOTHER WHIRLWIND week — Hawaii’s nightlife is evolving. “Somezing must change,” says longtime promoter Georgio. “We need somezing new here, darling.” Georgio and former partner Grant Fukuda (G-Dog Stone Groove Family) are bringing that “somezing” to the E&O Trading Co. The two reunited after nearly five years to throw an invite-only party for their flocks at E&O Trading Co. at Ward Centre. These are the guys responsible for starting Friday Nights at the “W.” If this Friday night soiree becomes a regular gig, it’ll provide a muchneeded alternative to the longstanding WonderLounge. E&O GM Sean Craig says that’s a possibility. “We’re looking at several options,” he says, including a jazz lounge or keeping it mellow like DJ Keith Kandell, Delve 45 did. Friends could talk at tables without yelling at each other and walk the room with ease. It already has the lounge vibe Craig says he wants. Wave Waikiki’s promotions director Flash had one drink with wingman DJ Maleko (Star 101.9FM) before heading off to The Wave Waikiki for Flash’s Retro ’80s Party. While they mingled, one of their groupies did her best to try to nab DJ Keith’s attention. She danced and wiggled in front of his booth for a few minutes only to walk away frustrated. Then, she’d try again. But Keith’s eyes were on the records. He used to work with celebrity DJ Mark Ronsen. Didn’t see Ronsen at E&O that night, but he was reportedly on the island …

MODELS GISELLE Pineda and Monica Bridle celebrated their Brazilian bikini photoshoot with drinks at E&O with boyfriends Deane Salter and Rob Traugher. Traugher’s Lanikai home was the backdrop for the shoot. His dining room was transformed into a makeup room for the day but, he says, he didn’t mind. The girls looked great in their Brazilian bikinis. Photographer Marco Garcia and stylist Blaine Ashley didn’t have to work too hard to make these girls look good …

FORMER SPORTS broadcaster and current film director Charlie Minn spent a few days on Oahu before jet-setting the country. He says he loves being in Hawaii. “There are so many Asians here!” He was genuinely surprised (and pleased) with Hawaii’s Asian and mixed populations. The poor guy came from Cleveland, where he says he feels like a minority. Minn struck up a conversation with a group of gorgeous women sitting at the table next to him at Ryan’s. Karina Terakura, Anita Young and Venus Delos Santos (aides to state Rep. Galen Fox) and Lori Wingard (chief of staff, City Councilmember Charles Djou) were so sweet … Minn fell smitten with Venus and gave her a copy of his latest screenplay Double or Nothing. Minn starts filming the movie about Asian gangs this summer. The indie has a $2 million budget financed, in part, by Indiana Pacers’ Dale Davis. This is Davis’second film with Minn. The first was called False Start, but Minn couldn’t get a distributor. “I’m working on attaching a star to this one,” he says, adding indies need a star to make it to the box office.

DOWN WARD Avenue — Lord of the Dance opened at the Blaisdell. KSSK’s Damian Balinowski took his daughter Megan. Sales and marketing manager for Clear Channel Communications Jamie Hartnett went with friend Shirley Alexander, the GM of TicketMaster. “I’m hoping to see “The Dog,” laughed Hartnett. Does the bounty hunter like Irish line dancing? Didn’t see him in the audience, but Duane Dog Chapman might be busy since signing a second season of Dog: The Bounty Hunter… More in TV Land: Season finales are just around the corner, and all I have to say is — thank goodness Constantine’s gone! The seven women in my jewelry class at Bead It unanimously voted Constantine is too full of himself to be an Idol. We like the down-to-earth, All-American type like Bo. But would you believe Constantine and his band already have a record deal? Yup, with Koch Records — William Hung’s label! That album is expected to debut June 7 …

NORAH JONES threw her crew a private party at a house in Portlock after wrapping her world tour in Honolulu two weeks ago. “Everyone ended up in the pool,” says one of the few outsiders allowed inside the party. Yes, they were wearing swimsuits. “She’s just a normal girl. If you didn’t know who she was, you’d never know she’s famous. She’s so sweet, almost mousy.”

THE WEST Side’s gotten a couple of musical treats this month, too: Despite losing drummer Keith Knudsen earlier this year, The Doobie Brothers are on tour. They hit Hawaii quietly a couple weeks ago (between Beaumont, Texas). They played for a convention at Ko Olina. The legendary Willie Nelson and fellow country-music singer Charlie Daniels performed the following night, followed by Earth Wind & Fire and Counting Crows. All for employees of the Texas Roundhouse restaurant chain … BTW: Nelson and the Doobie Brothers will reunite onstage along with Bob Dylan July 4 at Willie Nelson’s 32nd annual Picnic in Fort Worth …

SATURDAY May 7: David “Tank” vs. Wesley “Cabbage” Correira at Rumble on the Rock at the Neal Blaisdell Arena with Vitor “Shaloin” Ribeiro, Kimo Leopoldo, Renato “Charuto”Verrisimo and others. The event comes highly recommended! Tickets available at all TicketMaster locations or call 1-877-750-4400 …
