Lauren Weatherspoon has been hired as an administrative assistant at the Hawaiian Eye Center. She previously worked as a pharmacy technician at Kroger Pharmacy in Ohio.


Lisa Maruyama

Lisa Maruyama has been named vice president of public affairs for Bright Light Marketing Group. She previously worked as executive director for the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council.

Lisa M. K. Sakamoto

Lisa M. K. Sakamoto has been elected to the board for the Hawaii Medical Service Association. Sakamoto is vice president of finance for Catholic Charities Hawaii.

Lynette Kagihara

Lynette Kagihara has been elected to the board for Kahala Senior Living Community. She is an associate professor at the University of Hawaii’s John A. Burns School of Medicine. Kagihara is involved with PBS Hawaii, Japanese American National Museum and the Asian American Pacific Artists Association.

Phillip H. Ching

Phillip H. Ching has been elected secretary of the board for Kahala Senior Living Community. Ching is a former executive vice president of First Hawaiian. He serves on the boards of AIG Hawaii, Bishop Street Funds, Bobby Benson Foundation, the Institute for Human Services and Nordic Construction.

Rodney Kimo J. D. P. Wong

Rodney “Kimo” J. D. P. Wong has been promoted from assistant vice president to vice president of the Waikiki Business Banking Center for Bank of Hawaii. Wong started his career at the bank in 2002 as a business banking officer.

Roy King Jr.

Roy King Jr. has been elected to the board of the Kahala Senior Living Community. King is the president of the Hawaii Youth Symphony Association. King has been involved with the Honolulu Jaycees, Hawaii Restaurant Association, Junior Achievement of Hawaii, Goodwill Industries of Honolulu and the Rotary Club of Waikiki.
