Lincoln H. Jacobe was named to the board of governors of the Plaza Club as co-chair of the Young Professionals Board of Directors. Jacobe is the founder and chief executive officer of Hawaii Pacific Entertainment, and is also the manager and agent of American Idol finalist Jasmine Trias.

John Hart has been approved for candidacy on the Fulbright Senior Specialists Roster. Hart is an assistant dean of Hawaii Pacific University’s College of Communication.

Karl H. Fujii has been promoted to vice president and chief financial officer of Hawaiian Building Maintenance. He previously served as director of finance and business development.

Leslie Wilcox was recently honored by The Salvation Army as outstanding volunteers of the year. She is a cofounder of the Lokahi Giving Project, which has given holiday donations to help families in need during the last 13 years.

Chester E. Kaneshiro has been named president and chief operating officer of Tanaka of Tokyo Restaurants Ltd. Kaneshiro has been with Tanaka of Tokyo for 28 years.

Brenda Ito has been named advertising director of Hawaii Home and Remodeling Magazine. She previously worked with the non-profit revenue development at Hawaii Sports Network.

Faye Varias has been named assistant editor of Hawaii Home and Remodeling Magazine. She has previously worked for other publications.

Gary Karr has been named director of communications and education for the Oceanic Institute. He joined the firm 25 years ago.

Tom D. Milster has joined Nanopoint’s scientific advisory board. He is a research professor at the Optical Science Center at University of Arizona.

Mary Jane Smith has earned the Certified Travel Industry Executive (CTIE) accreditation. She is a manager of Regal Travel’s Kahala Branch.
