Melissa Woo has been named as an ophthalmic medical assistant for Hawaiian Eye Center’s Wahiawa office. Woo previously held a position as an instructor for a nonprofit organization in Chicago.

Alan Yee Jr. has been hired as an agent for New York Life Insurance Company’s Honolulu general office. In this position, Yee will help provide institutional asset management and retirement plan services to his clients, among other duties. Juliana Elizabeth Boneta has been hired as director of clinical research for the Retina Institute of Hawaii. Boneta received her doctorate of optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry. With an affinity for clinical research.

Brenda Sebresos has been named as an ophthalmic medical assistant for the Hawaiian Eye Center’s Wahiawa office. Prior to joining the center, Sebresos worked at a local hospital as a patient services representative.

Karl Waite, M.D. has joined the Retina Institute of Hawaii after completing his ophthalmology training in New York. Waite began his surgical career with the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami, and continued his ophthalmology training with Nassau University Medical Center. Most recently, he served as chief resident at the Nassau University Medical Center.

Teri Orton has been promoted to vice president, condominium resort marketing for Outrigger Enterprises Group’s Outrigger Condominium Collection. In this newly created position, Orton will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination of the marketing functions for Outrigger’s Condominium Collection.

Jun-Romeo Farinas has been promoted to human resources coordinator for Remedy Intelligent Staffing of Honolulu. Farinas joined the company in 2007 as an intern. In his new position, his duties include supporting human resource managers with fulfilling clients’ business needs, and assisting with recruitment, benefits, payroll and service placements.
