Michael Broderick has been appointed chief executive officer and president of YMCA of Honolulu’s board of directors. Broderick has been serving as a family court judge for the Hawaii State Judiciary since 2003 and has had more than 10,000 families appear before him involving every type of family issue.
Gary Matsumoto has been named banquet chef for the Hawaii Convention Center. Matsumoto has more than 12 years experience in food preparation and food and beverage management. He will be responsible for planning menus and execution of banquets at the center. Prior to this, Matsumoto was the general manager of Alan Wong’s Pineapple Room.
Benjamin Emery has been hired as area director of revenue strategy for North Asia, Hawaii and South Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, Emery is responsible for more than 33 properties. He has 15 years of hospitality experience, specializing in revenue management and strategy.
Kelly Mitchell has been named partner of Elite Pacific Properties. She previously worked at Prudential Locations for six years. Mitchell ranks among Oahu’s top 3 percent of real estate agents and is a 12-time local and national award-winning Realtor.
Kevin Ruffo has been appointed special inspector for Baldridge & Associates Structural Engineering Inc.‘s Testing and Inspection division. Ruffo is certified in special inspection of reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry, and he also is experienced in materials testing and sampling. Prior to joining BASE, Ruffo was employed as an independent deputy inspector for Los Angeles County.
