Doug Mattos has been promoted to vice president of business development at Certified Management. He has been with the company for 11 years. He will be responsible for working with developers, in addition to sales and marketing responsibilities.

Roland Ruiz has returned to the Aston Islander on the Beach as its general manager. He previously worked as general manager at the former Aston Kaha Lani, rooms division manager at Aston at Poipu Kai and maintenance supervisor at the Aston Islander on the Beach.

Paul Schow has been appointed general manager of the Maui Kaanapali Villas. He previously served as general manager of the Waimea Plantation Cottages.

Ai Youth- Chung has been named Asia sales and distribution manager with Aston ResortQuest Hawaii. Youth- Chung will assist with Asia sales.

Dennis Francis has been named to the board of directors of the Hawaii Foodbank. He is president of Oahu Publications Inc. (Honolulu Star-Bulletin / MidWeek), and publisher of the Honolulu Star- Bulletin.

Daryl Sato has been named to the board of directors of the Hawaii Foodbank. Sato is business manager at Advantage Webco Hawaii. Sato will serve a three-year term.

Joe Fadrowsky has been named chairman of the board of directors for 2005 for the Children’s Alliance of Hawaii. He works with the Gentry Companies.

Tracy Jones received the special recognition award from the Junior League of Honolulu. Jones is the JLH fundraising vice president. She is a certified public accountant, and an active community volunteer for Planned Parenthood Hawaii, Holy Nativity School and the Honolulu Academy of Arts.

Barbra Pleadwell received the community service award from the Junior League of Honolulu. She is the JLH communications vice president. She is a partner in the public relations firm Hastings & Pleadwell: A Communication Co.

Cherye Pierce received the STAR (Sustainer Taking an Active Role) award from the Junior League of Honolulu.


Pierce serves as a trustee for the Contemporary Museum, and sits on the boards of Rehab Hospital of the Pacific Foundation and the Garden Club. She also co-chaired the JLH’s 80th Gala this year.
