Sorry guys, this 19-year-old Maui beauty has herself a boyfriend. The music on her newly released CD, Temptation,how-ever, is available.

“Mark, my producer and I kind of decided on the name, Temptation,” says Chazar’e. “I guess because of the look of my pictures and my sound we decided to go with that.”

The King Kekaulike High School graduate hopes that her album will appeal to all audiences with a variety of tracks ranging in sound from R & B and reggae to dancehall and rock.

“It’s a lot of different music just to catch everyone’s ear,” adds Chazar’e.“It was more experimental just to see what my vibe was, and I just had fun with it.”

Chazar’e's new album is like an open door into her life. Not only does it feature genres that she herself enjoys listening to, she also wrote all but one song.

‘I love to write poems and music,” she says. “I try to look at other people’s lives because sometimes when you keep writing about yourself you run out of material. So I take my friends’ lives and what they’re going through and write about it.”

For now, Chazar’e has her eyes focused on a bright future in the music business. With this album she hopes to take performing, singing and songwriting to a professional level and maybe even make some money so she can pursue a nursing degree.

No matter where her music does take her, however, Chazar’e is certain that Maui will always be home.

“I want to stay on Maui, I love Maui - Maui no ka oi.”

It was at the Katchafire concert. I just took a whole bunch of friends with me and we all got our belly buttons pierced. It was a fun time. It was my 18th birthday, last year.

Who’s your favorite musician or band?

Tribal Seeds. They’re from San Diego, and when they come here I’m there.

What is the best part about living on Maui?

The vibe here, the people. Everyone is friendly. You go around to stores and there’s never a moment that you don’t know someone. You’re always waving and saying hi to people.

What’s your favorite late night snack?

Haagen Daaz coffee ice cream.

Where is your most ticklish spot?

My feet.

My mom and my boyfriend Nick. They just know how to make my day better.
