Jenny Nakata’s 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 442
Jenny Nakata grew up around cars and has fond memories of her father working on cars in the pits at the stockcar track. Today she still has an admiration for cars, but her favorite form of racing has changed to the quarter mile.
“For the past four or five years I’ve been going to Las Vegas to attend the NHRA nationals,” says Nakata. “Ashley Force, who drives a Funny Car, and Tony Schumacher in Top Fuel are my favorite drivers. And after the races are done, I usually stay a week to attend the SEMA show.”
Judging by this ride and her taste in drag racing, many would never guess that her daily driver is a 2009 Acura TL AWD. It is a very luxurious ride, but when it’s time to lay down the hammer, the TL AWD can give you a swift kick in the pants.
“There are only two of these cars on the island. The one I have and the other is on the showroom floor at the Acura dealership,” says Nakata. “I use to drive an ’04 Acura TSX, then I got a ’07 Acura TL Type-S and then I upgraded to the one I have now. You could say I am an Acura fanatic.”
The Street Toys Car Club that Nakata belongs to is always looking for new members who share the same enthusiasm for custom rides. Checkout the club’s MySpace page for more information.
