Nordstrom Ala Moana celebrated its one-year anniversary with a Cosmetics Trend Show March 21, spotlighting the newest makeup, skincare and fragrance must-haves.
According to Nordstrom, the top 10 beauty essentials for the season are:
* moisturizer with SPF
* pale highlighter
* dark eyeliner
* volumizing mascara
* brow pencil
* bright lipstick
* bronzer
* body cream
* multi-tasking products
* fresh fragrance
The event started bright and early with a pre-party at 7 a.m. and the show at 8. At just $15 a ticket, the event sold out weeks in advance. (Plus, guests received a cute pink-and-clear tote bag, and tickets could be redeemed toward a cosmetics purchase of $15 or more.)

During the show, host Joelle Russo revealed the hottest beauty trends - brightly colored, vivid lips; glowing, beautiful skin with a pop of peach on the cheek; luxurious lush lashes, and, again, the black liner.
After the show, industry experts including Jamie O’Banion, co-creator and founder of Organicare, were available for one-on-one consultations,.

Launched just a few months ago, Organicare is the first ever U.S. Department of Agriculture certified organic skincare line. Its Energeyes firming eye serum is a favorite of country singer Faith Hill, and its Brighter Tomorrow microderma oxygenation treatment is a favorite of actress Molly Sims, says O’Banion.
As for haircare, Phyto reports that actress Jennifer Aniston, who is known for her beautiful hair, uses Phytophanere, a dietary supplement for lifeless hair and weak, brittle nails. And first lady Michelle Obama uses the Phytospecific Phytorelaxer “to tame down frizz.”
