After-School All-Stars (ASAS) Hawaii celebrated its launch and inaugural event, All-Star Affair, at Royal Hawaiian Hotel last month. Guests enjoyed dinner and a silent auction with items that included sneakers signed by Kobe Bryant, a 49ers package and a meet-and-greet with Oakland A’s catcher Kurt Suzuki. Business and community leaders attended in support of after-school programs for Hawaii’s at-risk middle school youth. ASAS offers homework tutoring, enrichment and health and fitness activities Monday through Friday at no cost.
