Alan Wong and longtime friends celebrated the seventh anniversary of Wong’s Pineapple Room at Macy’s, Ala Moana Center, with a “New Wave Luau II.”

The stand-up pupu party featured the culinary wizardry of Alan Wong’s “family tree” of current and former chefs with entertainment by Mahiehie. The extensive menu included Smoked Pipikaula New York Steak and Ulu Crabcake with Corn Relish Aioli, a variety of poke, Deep Fried Crispy Taro stuffed with Chopped Suey Kalua Pig Cabbage, lots of great desserts and much more.

The event also was a reunion, of sorts, for guest chefs who have previously worked with Chef Alan, including Elmer Guzman, Jon Matsubara, Randall Ishizu and Mark Oyama.

Proceeds from the event benefited Hawaii’s Plantation Village.
