The Aloha Council, Boy Scouts of America, honored Mike May, president and CEO of Hawaiian Electric Co., and Carol Ai May, vice president of City Mill, as Hawaii’s Distinguished Citizens for 2005 during a dinner at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.

It is the first time a husband-and-wife team has been honored with the award.

The event, co-chaired by Don Carroll and Diane Plotts, recognized the Mays for their numerous distinguished contributions to Hawaii’s growth and vitality.

“Mike and Carol share a committment to family — their own blended ohana and their companies, as well as to our commuty,” says Rees Falkner, Aloha Council CEO.
