American Heart Association Heart Walk

Thousands of supporters turned out for the 14th annual Heart Walk sponsored by the American Heart Association of Hawaii.

The walk began at Kapiolani Bandstand and proceeded to Monsarrat Avenue, to Diamond Head Road, to Kalakaua Avenue and ended at Kapiolani Park, where walkers enjoyed an awards ceremony at which MidWeek/Honolulu Star-Bulletin presented $3,000 and $5,000 donation checks.

The goal of the walk is to help reduce disability and death from heart disease and stroke.
