The American Cancer Society’s annual Boots on the Beach gala held on Oct. 24 recognized this year’s recipient of the 2009 Patti Schuler Award, Dita Holifield, who survived breast cancer twice.

Guests gathered dressed in their best Western attire at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel to honor Holifield and others whose lives have been affected by cancer.
