MidWeek columnist Eddie Sherman, who retired his “three dots” at the end of 2005, was honored with a luncheon attended by 82 people (one for each year of his life) at Ruth’s Chris Steak House on Sunday, Jan. 8. Attendees paid 25 for the honor of lunching with Eddie. Entertainment was provided by keyboardist Don Conover and singer Shawna Matsuda. Restaurant owner Randy Schoch, who was on the Mainland and unable to attend the luncheon, surprised the columnist by asking his favorite charity and then donating the 2,000 in luncheon fees to the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific. Eddie will now devote his time and energies to his projects at the Pearl Harbor Visitors Center and other endeavors.
