Hawaii Air National Guard 60th Birthday Banquet
Del.icio.usMembers of the Hawaii Air National Guard (HIANG) past and present along with their families got together to celebrate 60 years of excellence, protecting Hawaii and the nation.
One of the evening’s highlights occurred when three original members of HIANG were given a standing ovation for having helped get HIANG off the ground in 1946. There were historic displays of uniforms and equipment from the 1940’s as well as a video highlighting some of the original HIANG members and other Airmen who’ve made contributions over the years.
HIANG is responsible for the air defense of Hawaii’s airspace, and as a reserve component of the U.S. Air Force is prepared to mobilize for active duty when called
