The first annual Legacy Awards — part of the four-day Hawaii Music Awards — were held recently with a seven course meal at Lau Yee Chai in Waikiki.

Legacy awards in a variety of categories were given to George Naope, Don Ho, Betty Loo Taylor, Al Harrington, Jack & Cha Thompson, Jimmy Borges, Sonya Mendez, Keith & Carmen Haugen, Jimmy Funai, Eddie Suzuki, Gordon Broad, Charlie Lukela and Randy Bauske.
