Kamehameha Schools honored three individuals recently with the Order of Ke Ali‘i Pauahi Award at the Bishop Memorial Chapel on the Kamehameha Schools Kapalama campus.

The award ceremony celebrated the accomplishments and contributions of individuals who have dedicated their time, talent and wisdom to Kamehameha Schools and the Hawaiian community. It is the highest and most distinguished award given to individuals who have exemplified the vision of Kamehameha Schools’ founder, Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop.

Honored were the late Dr. George Sanford Kanahele, who received the Ke Ali‘i Pauahi Legacy Award, and Augusta Helen “Gussie” Lihu‘eahanakalani Rankin Bento and Fred Keakaokalani Cachola Jr., who received the Order of Ke Ali‘i Pauahi award.
