Everywhere something was going on - and a lot of it - Sept. 22 at the Windward Ho’olaulea. Open for 12 hours straight in perfect weather, the homegrown festival took over Windward Community College with musicians, dancers, crafts, sales, exhibits, star shows, keiki rides and many ways for the crowd to eat, laugh, applaud and learn. Even Mayor Hannemann came by with a $5,000 grant to Kaneohe Business Group in support of the arts (and the budget for the event). Janis Chun declared it “the best one yet,” giving special thanks to Larry Lanning, Clara Dias, and Chun’s co-chairs Libby Young and Barbara Grange for making it a financial success as well. The first-time silent auction also did “really well” as a benefit for WCC.
