The Hawaii Food Industry Association (HFIA) 28th annual meeting and convention was held at the Turtle Bay Resort over Father’s Day weekend. Dads enjoyed golf, ping pong, socializing with friends and participating in games for the keiki.

The business portion of the convention focused on HFIA and the theme “Where we were, where we are and where we’re going as an industry.”

Glenn Muranaka of Meadow Gold Dairies was elected HFIA secretary/treasurer. Muranaka will move up to the position of chairman of the board in 2007. Joe Detro of Foodland was sworn in as chairman and Derek Kurisu of KTA Superstores was named vice chair.
