Waialae Country Club celebrated its 50th Women of Waialae Invitational Golf Tournament last week with 128 of Hawaii’s finest women golfers participating. After two days of challenging play on fast greens and in gusty winds, defending champion Sanae Vierra went head-to-head with Lily Yao three extra playoff holes to retain her title.

Kimo Kahoano emceed the awards banquet while Jackie Reber provided music at the keyboard. Club president Jim Burns and fellow members Stuart Ho, Paul DeVille and Danny Kaleikini were guests along with Dennis Francis, president of the Star-Bulletin and MidWeek, and Norm Guenther of Hawaii Golf
