SMART HOTSPOT

Opened in late 2006, Uncle Bo’s is Kapahulu’s newest destination for dinner, and best of all, late night food and drink service (you know you’re always looking for places to eat late at night!). The kitchen is open until 1 a.m. seven days a week. The interior is surprisingly modern and well-designed - when you enter, there’s a massive bar to the left (great for meeting friends for pau hana drinks) and a dining area to the right (great for a dinner date or a family get-together). There is also a back room for dining that can also be used for private parties. The local-style-comfort-food menu covers a lot of territory - pupu plates, soups and salads, steaks, fish and seafood main courses, pastas and pizzas. Order all pupus for sharing or have a standard dinner. Chef Bo’s favorites include the baked opah, garlic shrimp, meat lover’s pizza and crispy crab cakes. If you’re looking for great food, great atmosphere and great service, head to Kapahulu and have a seat at Uncle Bo’s. It’s a guarantee you’ll go back again.

Uncle Bo’s, 559 Kapahulu Ave., 739-2426 Hours: 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum $78 Sephora

You like to drink wine, but did you know it’s good for your face, too? Well, not actual wine, but grape seed polyphenols, which are what gives this serum by Caudalie its magic. Recommended for smokers, people with dark spots or sun damage, and for post-pregnancy stretch marks, this serum works wonders in just four weeks. Try some of Caudalie’s other products; as the world’s leading vinotherapy skincare line, it was the first to use and patent grape seed polyphenols in skincare.
