On Oct. 9, Allison Izu Nagato launched her exclusive line of petite denim -allisonizu - at thirtyninehotel. Her Spring 2008 collection features seven styles of denim (from jeans to shorts to a denim mini skirt) created especially for petites. As Honolulu’s first locally designed denim line, the fact that it’s designed with petite gals in mind makes it even more unique to Hawaii. But the new line is sure to be popular with shorter girls everywhere who have a hard time finding jeans that aren’t too long. The line will hit local boutiques in the next couple of months, and we can’t wait to try all the styles! Two SMART favorites include the Luana (a relaxed, wide leg-style jean with back flap pockets) and the Honolulu shorts (flat front “shorty” shorts in dark indigo).
