Ward Centers welcomes Dolce, a new boutique featuring exclusive and hard-to-find women’s apparel and accessories, ranging from the musthave little black dress to the “boyfriend” tee collection.

“It’s a boutique with more of the European flair,” explains Christie Yang (pictured at right), who co-owns the new business with boyfriend Jake Murakami. “I wanted to bring something different to the Island by carrying things that are different from other boutiques. A lot of our things are timeless, but still fashion forward.

“Also, we have a lot of feminine silhouettes but it’s not fitted. And many of our pieces can be dressed up or down, and the fabrications are great for Hawaii.”

Labels include Calypso, Morra Designs, LNA, Lauren Moshi, JJ Winters, Toy Watch and more.

Yang, a 1997 graduate of Roosevelt High School, was born and raised in Makiki and lived in New York where she worked for Ralph Lauren in management and sales.

She eventually left the retail industry to work in marketing but realized that she missed retail and decided to open her own boutique.

Dolce is located at Ward Centers, next to Mocha Java. For more information, call 596-9436.
