“Previously, Iolani fashions appeared under three separate labels: Young Hawaii, Island Moments by Emme, and Iolani Sportswear,” explains Lloyd Kawakami, company president. “September marks the launch of a brand consolidation, where men’s and women’s fashions will now be under one label - IOLANI.

“With the brand consolidation comes a reinvigorated thrust to innovative design, high quality fabrications, and creative product extensions. Iolani will have a cache and identity that will be bold and beautiful. The best is yet to come.”

Iolani Sportswear, founded by Edith and Keiji Kawakami in 1953, is known for its distinctive island-inspired prints and fashionable styles of excellent quality and value.

The event at Macy’s, which is free and open to the public, kicks off with entertainment by Cecilio & Kompany. The fashion show will follow at 1 p.m., featuring 40 garments exclusively designed, produced and distributed by Iolani. Commentary will be provided by KHON-TV2 news reporter Trini Kaopuiki, and fashions will be worn by professional models, as well as mother-daughter fanciers of Iolani styles, including Kitty and Emma Wo, Denise and Sarah Noyle, Jeri and Nicole Velasco, Karen and Kristi Torkildson, Noelle Taylor, and Edith and Pat Kawakami.

In Hawaii, Iolani Sportswear can be found at various retail outlets, including Macy’s, Sears, Hilo Hattie and DFS Galleria, as well as major resorts. For more information, visit www.iolanisportswear.com
