It’s no secret that Hawaii is a popular tourist destination with countless visitors roaming the Islands in their best resort wear throughout the year.

But you don’t have to be a tourist to sport comfortable, fun resort wear. Many top resort wear labels can be found right here in our home state. In business for more than two decades, Sonali Corporation offers a line of stylish resort wear for juniors and small—figure women called Palm Court, and a line for missy and plus-size women, as well as beach cover-ups, caftans and pareos called Peppermint Bay.

“In the past, long dresses and long skirts were very popular,” says Marilyn Nagel, Hawaii and South Pacific sales representative. “Now, short dresses are the in thing, and our current collection offers a lot of short dresses. Also, knit spandex is very popular because it’s easy to wear and easy to care for, so we’ve added that fabric to our line as well.”

Featured here is a selection of the 2008 Peppermint Bay and Palm Court spring collection available at Princess Kaiulani Fashions (1222 Kaumualii St.). Other styles and colors also are available. For details, call 847-4806.

The two lines also can be found at various stores around the Island, including North Shore Swimwear and Kailua Beachwalk.
