Instead of the traditional diamond engagement ring, Cora Spearman got a store.

The Place, which is co-owned by Spearman and her fiance Chris Chang, opened on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 4) at Ward Warehouse (below Stuart Anderson’s).

It’s described as a lifestyle store separated by personality type for men, women, children, pets and the home. Themes include Preppy/Conservative, Rock N Roll, Wine Enthusiast, Bling Bling, Posh Jet Setter and Yoga Zen.

“Our goal is to be the go-to gift store,” says Spearman. “We have the gift that evokes the feeling of whatever that person’s personality is, which makes it that much easier to buy that perfect gift.”

Brands include Tailor New York, Plush Living, Squirrel Nuts, MarieBelle Chocolates, Angel Candles, Riedel glassware, and more. The Place also has the Hawaii exclusivity to Antik Denim clothing for men, women and children, and Isola Luce candles.
