Produce concerts and events with named national acts for both the private and public sector. I focus on classic rock, older alternative and country acts.

Who is the biggest music artist/group that you’ve worked with?

Rod Stewart when we produced the Howard Stern Playboy Mansion Birthday Show.

Best part about your job?

Bringing people together and watching them have fun at the show for two hours of their typically busy lives.

How did you get into the music business?

I started producing concerts for the radio stations I worked for.

Most memorable musical moment?

It was after the 9/11 attack. Our annual fall concert that I produced for our classic rock station in L.A., which I was marketing director for, was on the air being promoted and scheduled to happen two weeks later. We had several bands on the bill including George Thorogood, Blue Oyster Cult and so on. Everyone wanted to cancel the show, but I fought to keep it on and wanted to make something positive out of doing it. We needed to try to figure out a way to give something back to the 9/11 memory. We had Jefferson Starship on the bill was well. I called the agent for legendary Grace Slick and she agreed to let us come to her home in Malibu to discuss the idea. Grace agreed to come to the concert and donate some of her art work as an auction item with the proceeds going to the 9/11 cause. The plan was much larger than that. Unknown to all but a few of us, she came out on stage during the Starship part of the show with her daughter China Phillips. Both of them completely wrapped up in U.S. flags with their faces all hidden. They unwrapped the flags and the crowd of 30,00 people went crazy when they saw it was Grace on stage with the Starship. She blessed the U.S.A. and those who lost their lives and then proceeded to sing White Rabbit. It was the last time she appeared on stage. Grace Slick is one of the most compelling people I have ever met.

Upcoming events/concerts?

Los Lonely Boys, Lost ‘80’s Live, Rock-A-Ween Halloween Block Party and Cyndi Lauper.

I would like to commend the author for a very well written article!  And, I would really like to read an update on Michael, and the concerts he has lined up for this year.  The Cyndi Lauper/Jake Shimabakuro concert at the Hilton Waikaloa in January 2008 was perfect in every way! I was totally impressed with the King Michel staff.
Thanks for writing this.
