SIQ Records, a locally owned and independently operated music label, is celebrating its one-year anniversary tomorrow night (May 17) at Lotus Soundbar with six hours of music and art by some of Hawaii’s most talented independent artists.

Taking the stage for this “Honolulu City Blitz” are Tempo Valley, The Spacifics, NoMasterBacks, Audible Lab Rats, Jonah The Whale, Hunger Pains, Amen from I-Womb, Meiso, B.S.W., Fat Soul and Staplemouth (former member of Proletariats).

The night will be hosted by SIQ Records’ Creed Chameleon, who also will perform on stage. Creed Chameleon shared the stage in 2007 with headlining acts such as Common, Rhazel, Talib Kweli, and The Gym Class Heroes. Creed’s new release, SIQ of Lazy, is scheduled to release late this summer and will feature many of the artists performing at this anniversary celebration.

And, as an added bonus, the first 100 guests will receive a complimentary SIQ Records album. Attendees also can expect many giveaways provided by SIQ, Scrapyard and Hawaiian Hydroponics and other local supporters.

The music starts at 9 p.m. and keeps coming until 4 a.m. Cover is $10; 21 and over welcome. For more information, visit www.siqrecords.com
