TWO-TIME EMMY-nominated pro dancer Cheryl Burke spent some time under the Hawaiian sun last week. Cheryl was the first multiple winner on Dancing With The Stars in 2006: first with partner Drew Lachey from the group 98 Degrees in February, and then with former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmit Smith in November. Most recently she made it to the DWTS finals with actor Cristián de la Fuente, placing third this past May ...

Fun fact: Cheryl is of Filipino, Russian and Irish descent.

Local composer Keith Haugen is pretty stoked to learn that one of his Hawaiian songs, Ku`u Home i Pupukea,(My Home In Pupukea), was performed some time ago by Verb Ballets, Cleveland’s national repertory dance company. Ernest Morgan choreographed the ballet, performed in the Murch Auditorium at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The playbill described the song as a “Hawaiian-inspired solo ... poignant and lyrical, a major revival.” Keith was listed in the credits along with Leonard Bernstein, Klaus George Roy, Felix Mendelssohn and Hernando Cortez ...
