I’M EXCITED ABOUT seeing old friend and Grammy-winning vocalist Pauline Wilson perform with the Honolulu Jazz Quartet at 7:30 this Saturday night at the Honolulu Academy of Arts’ Doris Duke Theatre. Pauline’s talent sparked Hawaii’s outstanding band, Seawind ...

The Love Guru himself, Mike Myers, took a tour of Pearl Harbor last week. Glad I could help, Mike. Enjoy your stay in Hawaii! ...

Our very own Alan Arato, promotions and event producer, is now the sales and marketing specialist for Aloha Stadium. Well-experienced in the industry, he’ll help bring more concerts, events and expos to our largest island venue. Go get ‘um, Alan! ...

Was touched by Charles Memminger‘s Star-Bulletin tribute to Sergio Goes - photographer, filmmaker, father and friend. He will be missed and remembered. Among his hobbies: photographing many concerts for me, including last year’s ‘70s Soul Jam ...

Bon Voyage: Grammy Award-winning Kanye West departed Honolulu last week on a private jet after a few days of working on his new album at Avex Honolulu Studio. The famous studio is a beautiful getaway for many hip-hop artists, including Jay-Z, Beyonce and Common. With state-of-the-art equipment and comfort, there’s no question why Kanye chose Hawaii as the perfect location to relax and record. Can’t wait to hear the new album ...

Joe and wife Bev Gannon have the landmark Hali’imaile General Store and Joe’s in Wailea. The beautiful Maui homes they now enjoy are a far cry from the $12-per-night rooms I booked for them at the Maui Palms Hotel way back in 1976 ...

This week in 1988: The Show of Stars returns to the Hawaii Ballroom of the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. I had the pleasure of introducing The Drifters, Mary Wells, The Classic IV’s Dennis Yost and Sam & Dave’s Sam Moore ... The No. 1 record is Hold On To the Night by Richard Marx ...

50 Years of Radio & Rock Stars - see and read all about them in Uncle Tom’s best selling book “Showman Of The Pacific,” written by Jerry Hopkins available at leading stores and online at amazon.com.
