AMERICAN IDOL star Randy Jackson won’t be playing with Journey in their three sold-out Blaisdell Arena concerts. In the ‘80s when they did multiple shows in the arena, Randy was Journey’s bass player.

Congratulations to an adorable and talented ballerina. Sabrina Ocasio advanced in the Youth American Grand Prix Ballet Competition, taking first place in the San Francisco semi-finals for 9-to 11-year-olds and advancing to the international finals in New York, April 17-22 ... Fun Fact: Punahou fifth-grader Sabrina has been dancing ballet for eight years.

Verizon Wireless Hawaii Junior World Surf Team is hosting a Send Off Party Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Hard Rock Cafe. Attending are the 12 Hawaiian amateur world team surfers who will be competing against 29 countries in Ecuador March 27 to April 5. “These young ambassadors of Aloha will represent our islands as they surf and spread Aloha around the world,” remarked Rainos Hayes, team captain ...

More nuptials in paradise! High School Musical stars Zac Efron and fianceé Vanessa Hudgens are rumored to get married here in September. They fell in love with Hawaii last year while visiting for a friend’s wedding. Vanessa has been quoted saying “to get married on a beach so it’s perfect” and “Zac is over the moon” that Vanessa said yes.
