Saturday and Sunday a great classical program comes to the Blaisdell Concert Hall featuring renowned pianist William Wolfran returning to perform Rachmaninoff’s First Piano Concerto with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. Guest conductor will be Vasily Petrenko, principal conductor for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britan.
This week in 1978: Shaun Cassidy performs two concerts in the Blaisdell Arena. While here, Shaun gets a call from Glen Larson that his series The Hardy Boys Mysteries is being renewed for another season. Hundreds of “Aloha Shaun” banners are made for the hundreds of fans who line Ala Moana park holding the banners and greeting Shaun as his limousine drives by on the way to his hotel from the airport.
