Boz first performed here in 1970 at the Civic Auditorium in a show that included The Elvin Bishop Group, guitarist Mike Bloomfield and legendary blues great John Lee Hooker. McDonald made his Hawaii debut on keyboards with Steely Dan in 1974 at Blaisdell Arena. Don’t miss this amazing double-threat March 11 at the Waikiki Shell and March 12 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Welcome back, gentlemen ...

Support “Friends of Kehau” at the Aloha Jam Friday, March 5, from 4 to 10 p.m. at Hard Rock Café. Correction: Dr. Mark Stitham, mentioned last week, is a psychiatrist, not psychologist.

This week in 1984: The Police perform at Aloha Stadium before a crowd of 31,653 fans with opening acts Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bryan Adams. Three days later, they win a threesome at the 26th annual Grammy Awards: Song Of The Year and Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal for the song Every Breath You Take, and Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal for the album Synchronicity ... The No. 1 record is Karma Chameleon by Culture Club ...
