I ran into an old pal’s son at the opening of Waikiki Edition hotel: Donovan Leitch Jr. It was great chatting with him and reminiscing about his father’s concert ... This week in 1974: Elton John and his band, featuring Nigel Olsson and Dee Murray, perform for three nights in the Arena. I’m concerned about ticket sales when the third show is added, but any concern falls by the wayside when I arrive at the Blaisdell before the box office opens to see what seems like an endless line of fans waiting to buy tickets. All three concerts sell out!
