I HAD A GREAT TIME dining with Maui boy Shane Victorino and a few close pals at Alan Wong‘s last week. He was in town for his annual dinner and golf tournament fundraiser for the Shane Victorino Foundation. The baseball pro is a star in the true sense of the word and the real deal. It was the first time I’ve ever seen the limo driver invited to join in on dinner rather than wait outside in the car. Shane is not only a credit to baseball, but also to Hawaii. A class act all the way! ...

Local fashion designer Anne Namba is in Sweden serving as costumer for Malmo Opera’s production of Madame Butterfly. She originally created costumes for the Savonlinna, Finland, production last year, some of which Malmo rented, but Namba has to create new ones to fit the principals, so she’s there for two weeks with daughter Roxanne ... Meanwhile, hubby David Cassidy and son Quinn are off to Oregon to watch his Ducks, the nation’s No. 1 college football team, play Arizona on Friday ...
