This week in 1979: Chicago performs at Aloha Stadium. It’s a unique setup: “the Concert Corner of Aloha Stadium” is how the configuration is described. The stage is built at second base, facing the south stands. Fans love it and pack all the available seats! Only one problem arises: Once the music starts, so does the rain. It rains and it rains. And then it rains some more. The concert is postponed that night, the next night, and the night after that. Finally, on the fourth night, the weather clears up and Chicago performs a memorable concert.

The No. 1 one hit in Hawaii is Le Freak by Chic.
