KONA WEDDING BELLS - Congrats to Spiderman star Tobey Maguire, who wed long-time girlfriend Jennifer Meyer in an intimate ceremony on the Big Isle last week in front of friends and family, including 9-month-old daughter Ruby. Among those in attendance: good friend Leonardo DiCaprio. The happy couple are quite fond of the islands - they vacationed here earlier this year. What a place for the ceremony and honeymoon!

Look for Tobey’s upcoming flicks Quiet Type and Tokyo Suckerpunch...

It’s all about helping—a benefit concert series for the Hawaii Food Bank with Ooklah The Moc, Marty Dread, B.E.T. and Typical Hawaiians starts September 12 at the Mai Tai Bar. A great lineup of talent, all for a good cause! With silent auctions, prizes, good food and music - head over and show your support by bringing canned goods…

Tia

I can’t wait to see the upcoming special edition of Emme’s Island Moments - Island Roots. Emme always does a first-class presentation worthy of any major market…we are lucky to have her. Featured in the special is Punahou graduate and presidential candidate Barack Obama for an exclusive in-depth interview with local friends and family. Also, 16-year-old golf pro Tadd Fujikawa and movie-star Tia Carrere. Here’s a photo of Tia taken when she appeared in Brown Bags to Stardom, at the Waikiki Shell, during her Sacred Hearts Academy days. Neither she nor another student from Leilehua (John Hirokawa) won that night - but they both sure made it big! See these stars and their roots Sept. 27 on KHON2…

Everybody dance now! The ‘90s invade Hawaii with C&C Music Factory, The Cover Girls and Seduction. Sure to be an unforgettable night with groups that defined the ‘90s music revolution. Don’t miss this one - Saturday, Oct. 13, at Pipeline Café...

It’s that time again - the 21st season of polo is well under way at the Honolulu Polo Club. It’s a great way to spend a day with your family! Games are open to the public every Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Waimanalo field. The finale, the Colin Ogawa Memorial Cup, will be contested on Oct. 14. See you there…
