A superhero wannabe from Kahuku, Melody Mooney, made the cut for the reality show Who Wants to be a Superhero, Season 2. The Kahuku and BYU-Hawaii graduate portrays “Hygena” (an expert fighter of crime and grime) on the show. It premieres at 9 p.m. July 26 on the SciFi Network ... Things must be squared away for the HEARTS musical Fiddler on the Roof, whose young cast has been rehearsing at Kailua Church of the Nazarene for weeks and will play at Hawaii Theatre at 7 p.m. Aug. 2 and 3 (741-2787). At one point, the fiddler was laying a few too many high notes, prompting director Rachel DeBoard and choral director Pamela DeBoard to actively recruit “four more teenage boys with changed voices” for the annual summer show ...
