Established in 1936, Kahala Sportswear was one of the first companies to commercially produce aloha shirts in Honolulu. In 2006, the brand was purchased from Local Motion by Tori Richard, which relaunched the brand with the opening of its first-ever retail store in the new Nordstrom wing at Ala Moana Center last year.
