It’s that time again it all starts with Halloween, then we blaze thru to Thanksgiving, and before you know it’s Christmas then New Years.

This is the time of year that we easily burn ourselves out. Shopping, cooking, and partying are everyday situations once Halloween comes around.

We’re all so busy trying to keep up, that our bodies and mind start to suffer and one of these symptoms start to creep up:

* Anxiety
* Depression
* Poor sleep
* Low immunity
* Weight gain
* Irritability
* Indigestion

There are many natural alternatives to help combat these common holiday occurrences.

Anxiety and depression can be reduced when serotonin is released in the brain. 5-HTP is an amino acid that helps the secretion of this feel good hormone. Serotonin also can help with maintaining weight by giving a person a feeling of contentment.

Poor Sleep can be eased by Tranquil Sleep, which contains Suntheanine, 5-HTP, and melatonin. These fruit flavored chewable tablets taken 30-45 minutes before bedtime helps put you to sleep and keeps you asleep. It eases racing thoughts that keep you awake and gives you a sense of calm.

The very popular Wellness Formula has everything you need to shorten the duration of a cold or even if caught early can keep a cold at bay.

Echinacea, maitake, propolis, etc. are traditional western and eastern supplements that can keep you well all season.

Weight Gain doesn’t have to happen during the holidays. Adding more fiber to your diet prior to a meal can help you feel full so you don?t overeat at mealtime. Also, taking a high fiber meal replacement for one of your meals can really help keep the pounds off. PGX is a fiber that can help keep your sugar levels at balance, helps you to feel full, and can even ease constipation.

Irritability is common because we often lack time and sleep. Holy Basil by New Chapter is a favorite with ‘Umeke staff as well as customers. Not only does this herb help you to feel calm and balanced; it is said to “take the edge off”. Also, Holy Basil supports normal cortisol levels so you don?t see that unwanted belly fat.

Gas, bloating, and belching are often the result of eating too much food and/or eating too much of the wrong kinds of food. By taking an enzyme during your meals your body has an easier time breaking down the carbohydrates as well as protein that often give you the uncomfortable feelings.

The holiday season is the time to enjoy spending with family and friends so take the time to slow down. Be proactive about your health and keep one or two of these tips in mind to help you enjoy your holiday season.
